I'm sure we've all at one point having watched Steve Irwin said amongst ourselves "That guy's crazy" or "that guys gonna get it." Very entertaining and good hearted person it seemed. He definitely made an impact on everyone that watched him. His genuine love for animals was what I really liked about him. I was way past his Aussie accent, there was way more to him than just silly Australian cliches'
R.I.P. m'ate you went exactly the way you knew were going to and wanted to!
Watch the movie/documentary "Grizzly Man" it's amazing

That sucks... I loved 'The Crocodile Hunter'! It was probably the only 'new' show in the last 5 years that I watched regularly for a period. It was the only real reason I wanted to go to Australia. To go to his Zoo and hope that he was around so I could meet him. At least we can never say the 'croc' got him in the end. R.I.P.

Better to die doing what you are passionate about than dying and not have lived at all, waiting for life to happen.

Its quite simple to "wait for life to happen" actually - naturally life doesn't cease - it just seems to happen around you as opposed to for, or to you...your dreams and goals, or semblance of happiness become seemingly further from your grasp and you feel like "this is where I am meant to be I suppose" I fell into a rut and "waited" for a long time...it becomes "comfortably numb" (if I may use the lyric) and seems "right"

well then. . perhaps that was as part of the growth process? I feel that way now. Perhaps I have been waiting, although my life never stopped. . . I feel more like I had been standing still perhaps with a different view of 'life'. I needed time and in that time what was not necessary was "washed away" and now I have my priorities in view, clear as day.

That is exactly what I meant. Life happens. It is all around us. However, your mere presence does not imply that you are living, let along living life to its fullest. So someone in a coma is still technically alive, and life still happens, but he/she is not living..... Perhaps a matter of opinions, but I think I would prefer dying knowing that I did all I wanted and could do, to the best of my ability than not. So being more active than reactive. Making things happen, shaping my environment instead of reacting to it.
That is what I was trying to say......

yes. . .I enjoy the feeling of making life happen. That is when you know you are living!
those in a "coma" may not be "living" in this life but perhaps another. . .a different realm?
I feel like I went on a journey into a state somewhat like those ina coma and came back with the knowledge that this LIFE is a game, offered as a gift with a "RULES" handbook that is written in riddle. . . not in stone.
