As I awoke to my alarm clock set to CJay 92, I was put into horror and my body and mind went into shock. The DJ reported the death of Guitar God : Darrell Abbott, also known as Dimebag Darrell. My eyes were filled with tears. This man carried the throne of Guitar god thoughout the nineties and carried on thoughout the 2000's with his manic axe slinging genius. When the grunge trend began and Metal got set aside in the mid-nineties, Pantera, going against the grain, was there selling millions of albums and selling out arenas with a big middle finger aimed at the media and new trendy music. They proved that great music doesn't have to be the trend of the week. Darrell also seemed to be one to enjoy life to it's fullest. Always seeing him smile, pull pranks, and have fun seemed to be his way. I carry his guitar pick with me every day. Just as a reminder that playing guitar should always be about having fun and loving what you do. No matter if it's playing guitar or whatever else you like to do. You will always be one of my biggest influences. Not only in playing guitar, but living my life. Darrell... I miss you. R.I.P.

Not to forget. Vinny Abbott, his brother and Drummer extordinaire, was shot also. As of now, I think he's recovering. I wish him the best of luck as to all who've been victims of this horrible experience. Life's just become more of a challenge. ...Mike

Yeah thanks Mike. I had a good cry over it myself. But I rather would have not even had to write that. It's never easy man, never easy when it's one of your heroes dies. Pantera was a band that will never be duplicated. I say come Saturday we all pour one out for Dime.
